How It All Goes Down
A Beautiful Hill
- We're on a beautiful hill with Harry and Albus.
- Harry tells Albus he'll try and be a better dad.
- Albus says, "Dad, you don't need to—" (4.15.18) which might be the biggest lie in this play.
- Harry confesses to Albus that he's afraid of pigeons.
- And he's also afraid of being a dad to Albus.
- Maybe because they're so similar—Harry says his "childhood was a constant struggle" (4.15.29), just like Albus'.
- He says that Dumbledore and Snape, whom Albus is named after, had their trials and their flaws, and their flaws are what (almost) made them great men.
- Subtext: Albus is so dang flawed that he's (almost) amazing.
- Harry wanders over to a grave, because this beautiful hill is actually a graveyard.
- They stand over Cedric's grave and remember Cedric and Craig Bowker.
- Let's remember Craig Bowker, shall we? He died. And…um…uhh…
- Harry says he didn't know Cedric well, either, but he's still sorry he was stolen.
- The dead remembered, Harry says, "I think it's going to be a nice day" (4.15.57).
- Albus agrees.
- The end.
