Character Analysis
Bagration is our counterpoint to Kutuzov. If Kutuzov is general as poet, all feeling feelings and intuiting intuitions, then Bagration is general as accountant, making sure every t is crossed and every i is dotted. He's put on the case (or, um, you know, in charge of the war) in the beginning, but according to the book, he just doesn't have the kind of instinctive leadership that is necessary to mobilize the Russian army and citizenry to kick Napoleon out of the country.
