How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Toy Story.
Quote #7
WOODY: What happened to you?
BUZZ: One minute you're defending the whole galaxy, and, suddenly, you find yourself sucking down Darjeeling with Marie Antoinette and her little sister.
Okay, this might be even sadder. Buzz has finally—finally!—figured out the truth. Yes, he's a toy. After all, he did see a commercial for himself on TV. That's a pretty big blow to his space ranger ego. After all, he thought he was different, maybe even better, than these strange creatures in Andy's room. Turns out he's one of them after all. That's make him feel pretty small and worthless.
Quote #8
BUZZ: No, Woody. For the first time, I am thinking clearly. You were right all along. I'm not a space ranger. I'm just a toy. A stupid, little, insignificant toy.
WOODY: Wait a minute. Being a toy is a lot better than being a space ranger […] over there in that house is a kid who thinks you are the greatest, and it's not because you're a space ranger, pal, it's because you're a toy. You are his toy!
Who are these guys exactly? They may just be toys, but they're toys that mean a whole to one little boy. They make him happy. Could anything in the world be more important? After this little speech, Buzz finally understands who he is and what he needs to do. Hey, that's the power of monologues.
