How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Toy Story.
Quote #1
WOODY: Okay, first item today...oh, yeah. Has everyone picked a moving buddy?
HAMM: Moving buddy?! You can't be serious!
REX: Well, I didn't know we were supposed to have one already.
MR. POTATO HEAD: Do we have to hold hands?
WOODY: Oh, yeah, you guys think this is a big joke. We've only got one week left before the move. I don't want any toys left behind. A moving buddy—if you don't have one, get one!
It's clear from the very opening of this movie that Woody is the leader of this little community of toys. Here, he's heading their staff meeting and giving out some pretty good advice…even if the rest of the group doesn't want to take it seriously.
Quote #2
SLINKY: Woody, what are you doing under the bed?
WOODY: Uh-h-h-h...nothing! Uh, nothing. I'm sure Andy was just a little excited, that's all. Too much cake and ice cream, I suppose. It's just a mistake.
MR. POTATO HEAD: Well, that mistake is sitting in your spot, Woody.
REX: Have you been replaced?
WOODY: Hey! What did I tell you earlier? No one is getting replaced. Now let's all be polite, and give whatever it is up there a nice, big "Andy's Room" welcome.
Oh, wow. There's been a shake-up in Andy's bedroom. As soon as the new toy rolls in, everyone in the little toy community looks to Woody for answers, but they're shocked to see him lying on the floor like the rest of them. Looks like there's a new Sheriff in town… and he's a spaceman.
Quote #3
WOODY: […] That is Sid.
BUZZ: You mean that happy child?
MR. POTATO HEAD: That ain't no happy child!
REX: He tortures toys—just for fun!
Sid's a pretty big worry for this group of toys. Sure, they're all pretty safe in Andy's room, but one wrong move near the window and they could end up being blown up in Sid's yard. Woody's also careful to exclude Buzz from their group. After all, he's a "space ranger," not a toy like the rest of them.
