- Puck and Finn head down to Dory Maud's shop, where the sisters are trying to hook George Holly up with their blind sister, Annie.
- They send Puck off to take George Holly to breakfast, giving him time to get to know her. See, Sean Kendrick has told him a lot about Puck.
- It seems there's a rumor that she might actually have a shot at winning this race, if her horse can run in a straight line while all the others pull toward the sea.
- Plus, Holly tries to do a little matchmaking of his own, saying "I hope you won't wait for Sean Kendrick to realize that he's lonely" (50.83). In other words, horse blankets alone won't keep a boy warm.
