Character Analysis
This character is all good. Really, she is giving and a big help to Bud. She doesn't do much except for offer Bud new clothes and good food and a warm, clean, safe place to sleep one night. One main thing we see in her is that she is another strong mother character. Cooking and cleaning and child-rearing are typical/historical female roles, which she does, but she also talks a lot at breakfast and is allowed to hit her father and scold him for teasing so much. That is a power that is light and jovial, though, not abusive.
