Character Analysis
This is a minor character in the beginning of the book that gets pulled aside with Bud and told to pack up to go to a new foster home. Jerry is mainly there to show how kind and attentive Bud is. When Jerry begins to get really upset about having to go, Bud steps up and calms his fears right away. Jerry is only six, so Bud understands why he is nervous. This places Bud in exactly the opposite role of Mrs. Amos and Todd. We like Bud!
