With guidance and support from peers and adults, develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, and editing. (Editing for conventions should demonstrate command of Language standards 1-3 up to and including grade 4 here.)

Writing is often thought of as a singular event. But all writers need feedback and editing and re-writing and re-writing. It should take a lot of work and patience to get to the final product. This standard is about providing students with the support they need to grow as writers, and that can't happen in a vacuum. They need you there to present the process, help them through the process, pass on your tips and tricks, and show them the way to solid ground.
