Macheath and Polly Peachum

Macheath is pure ugliness; he is a bad mamma-jamma and he knows it. And he definitely will not be apologizing for it. Polly, though, is innocent. Her surprise at the fact that all of their possessions are stolen, and that their marriage isn't even legal, just intensifies Mac's cynical nature by comparison.
