Character Analysis
An old friend and lover of Mac, Jenny is the prostitute who betrays him at Mrs. Peachum's bidding. She sings with Mac of longing for the old days when they used to be together, but also reveals some disturbing memories, too, of him beating her or flushing their child into the sewer.
Jenny has obviously been through some terribly traumatic experiences, but she's a minor character. It's almost like her hard life is so ordinary, in the world of the play, that those terrible events can just be ignored.
