Voting Rights Act: Section 11 Summary

Follow The Rules, Guys

  • Nobody can prevent people protected by this act from voting. (It's sad that this needs to be said, but there you go.)
  • Nobody can threaten people for enforcing this act. (Even sadder that this needs to be said.)
  • Whoever, however, commits voter fraud shall be fined no more than ten thousand bucks and sent to jail for no more than five years. This ruling is for Federal elections only, though; presidents, representatives, senators, and the like.
  • Examiners or hearing officers who commit fraud get the same max $10,000 and five year sentence as the fraudulent voters.
