- The members of the Annex have used too much electricity (there’s a ration on it) and it will be cut off for two weeks.
- One of Mr. Dussel’s favorite pastimes is to give Anne sermons on proper manners and behavior. This, in addition to Mrs. van Daan’s nagging, is really hard for Anne to deal with.
- Anne wishes she could behave differently than she does.
