Description:
What is a Closed-End Fund? Mutual Funds are usually categorized as either open end, meaning that additional shares are given to new subscribers at the latest NAV price, or closed-end, meaning the number of shares is fixed, and the mutual fund is quoted on the NYSE and trades accordingly, like an ETF. A closed end fund still has a NAV and it may be higher or lower than the quoted price on the NYSE based on sector popularity and other factors.
