How It All Goes Down

Liir comes in with news from the Emerald City. Dorothy and her crew have gone to see the Wizard, and the Wizard has sent them to kill the Witch.
Liir also says that the superstitious Gale Force officers won't kill Dorothy Gale.
Liir is looking forward to meeting Dorothy.
After running through what Dorothy and her crew want, Liir asks Elphaba what she wants.
She answers: "a soul," almost involuntarily (5.2.34).
Liir wants a father.
