How It All Goes Down
- Teabing finally gets to see the cryptex, and he caresses it reverentially. He's been waiting his whole life for this moment.
- While Teabing and Sophie admire the cryptex, Langdon fiddles with the gorgeous box it came in. He has a feeling something might actually be underneath that inlaid rose on the lid.
- He's right. On the underside of the design is a tiny hole that doesn't go all the way through. He pokes into the hole with an unbent paperclip, and the rose pops out easily.
- Where the rose had been are four lines of text that look vaguely Semitic, but unrecognizable.
- Before he can even think he gets walloped on the head, and is KO'ed.
