- There doesn't seem to be anything out here other than an abandoned trailer and rusted vehicles. Certainly no dead bodies.
- Mills gets Doe out of the car, and he asks what time it is.
- It's 7:01. "It's close," Doe says.
- The three men take a little stroll, and a van approaches from down the street.
- Somerset goes to intercept the van, leaving Mills with Doe.
- It's just a normal delivery van. He has a package for Detective David Mills. Oh, isn't that sweet. What is it? Chocolates? Flowers?
- It's a box.
- Somerset makes the driver run away without the van, and then he decides to open the box instead of waiting for the bomb squad.
- He cuts the tape and opens a flap. There's blood on it.
- He peeks inside, and although we don't get to see what's in it, Somerset jumps back.
- "John Doe has the upper hand," Somerset says into his wire.
- Back with Doe, Doe says he admires Mills. He wishes he could live like him. He admires him and his pretty wife—Tracy.
- Mills doesn't know how Doe knows his wife's name.
- Doe bought information from a man in the precinct. And visited Mills' home.
- He tells Mills that he cut off Tracy's head.
- Somerset arrives and tells Mills to put down the gun.
- Doe says he envied Mills' normal life. "It seems that envy is my sin."
- Doe wants Mills to shoot him. "Become … wrath."
- "She begged for her life … and for the life of the baby inside of her," Doe says.
- Mills didn't know about the baby.
- Somerset tells Mills not to kill Doe. If he does, Doe will win!
- Mills shoots Doe right in the head and then shoots him in the body five more times.
