- The guy has been injured somehow, either shot or from jumping from buildings like Spider-Man. He's limping and bleeding, so Mills follows the trail.
- Despite being injured, the guy slides down a fire escape and runs into traffic, where he gets clipped by a taxi.
- Mills is not nimble. He falls into a trash pile and chases the dude across the street.
- Mills is holding his shoulder. Either he's doing his best Napoleon impersonation or he was injured in the fall.
- In an alley, the guy is waiting on a truck. He clocks Mills with something heavy, knocks him down, and puts a gun to his head.
