A Visitor from Asia
- One of the Baroness' friends in Nairobi is an Indian man named Choleim Hussein, who asks if he can bring a High Priest from India to her farm. She says yes, and Hussein explains all sorts of protocol that will go with the visit.
- She agrees but forgets about the appointment and is trying out her new tractor when the company arrives. She likes the Priest, even with all the rules that come with his visit.
- Before he leaves, the High Priest gives Blixen a pearl ring, and she gives him a lion skin.
- When he's gone, she gets a letter from an Indian prince asking to buy one of her grey dogs that the High Priest had told him about.
