• Meet Raoul. His fiancé ran off with the King. He is now heartbroken and spends all his time with his father, Athos.
• Raoul is so sad, that he's going to join M. de Beaufort on a military campaign in Africa, where he will hopefully die.
• Athos accompanies Raoul to the coast of France. They have a tearful farewell.
• Raoul dies.
