Aramis (perhaps unfairly) guides and shapes Philippe's destiny as well as Porthos's. With his masterful skills of persuasion, Aramis is able to convince Philippe to try being king, and with his cunning, is able to direct Porthos's actions in the grotto to the pair's best advantage.
