Character Analysis
We don't see Madame Maxine directly in Book 5 – she is a much bigger part of Book 4 – but we hear about her from Hagrid when he is discussing his trip to France to look for giants over the summer. Hagrid clearly has a thing for Madame Maxine, though it's unclear what the current status of their relationship is.
