Character Role Analysis

Marty McFly and George McFly

The George from 1985 #1 is everything Marty wants to avoid. The George from 1985 #2, on the other hand, is everything Marty wants to become.

As the film progresses, we can see that Marty loves his dad, but pities him, and wishes he'd get some gumption. Then, once he grows a backbone, he actually leaves Marty in his dust. Not only does George no longer shy away from a fight but also he's overcome that very same insecurity that still plagues Marty… so much so that he becomes a published science fiction author.

So, now that Junior has someone he can actually look up to does that mean he's about to start kicking butt in the rock n' roll world, too? Guess we'll find out in the sequels!
