Character Analysis
There isn't much we know about Corporal Grub Kelp other than that he's Trouble's younger brother and—frankly—not that great at being in Retrieval. Oh, and he irons Trouble's shirts.
As dunderheaded as he is though, he also happens to be the only officer left conscious when Butler decimates Retrieval, and stands up to Butler by saying that "'An LEP officer never relinquishes his weapon'" (6.309). Of course, he kind of ruins this moment of maturity and bravery when he runs off thinking, "Wait until Mommy heard about this" (6.311)—but you win some, you lose some.
