Character Analysis
A Russian artist who paints Anna's portrait. His dedication to his art shows up Vronsky's amateur, dilettante approach. In one scene, Levin becomes quite taken with the portrait done by Mikhailov, and notes that the portrait of Anna is more striking than the real woman. (Although, Levin does acknowledge that the fact that Anna the person is living and breathing makes her more ultimately more beautiful than the portrait.)
