Summarize a written text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally.

While students were asked to "paraphrase" a portion of a text by the fourth grade equivalent, this year they'll be prompted to "summarize" an entire text. This means that they'll be analyzing texts as a whole, rather than piecemeal. In addition, they'll continue to build their skills delivering both oral and multimedia presentations.
