Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading, or listening.
This standard simply wants students to write, speak, read, and listen good. Your kids will know—because of conventions—that our use of "good" in that sentence was erroneous. Which brings us to our point: using proper conventions produces respectable communicators, readers, and listeners.
