Odds of Getting In
Chances are you'll be able to find a summer job if you:
- are an awesome swimmer
- are a great runner
- have the necessary Red Cross certificates and lifeguard training
- are responsible and good with people
However, the odds of making the big bucks as a lifeguard captain or supervisor are very small. Only a small handful of lifeguards are "lifers," and they often have EMT certification to boot.
