Character Role Analysis

The Witches (especially, The Grand High Witch)

Hmmm. Who are the bad guys in The Witches? Maybe the ones who go around trying to kill all the children in the world? Yeah, we'd say so. The Grand High Witch is particularly antagonistic (mostly because we get to know her more than the other witches – when you feel like you know a character and they're still a meanie, it kind of makes their meanness worse). She is the typical villain: she's mean, she's bossy, she has a group of people who follow her blindly. Plus she likes to inflict harm on innocent people. Think Evil Stepmother in Cinderella.
