Morpheus is the Matrix version of the wise mentor. He's the Dumbledore of the movie as he helps Neo to navigate the real world and the Matrix while simultaneously filling viewers in on everything that's going on. He is the leader of the crew; he's the man with the plan that everyone looks up to.
