Yes, in case you couldn't tell, Jonas is the protagonist.

He doesn't do too bad of a job at it, either. He's not only likeable—he's also honest, sincere, kind, and self-sacrificing. Needless to say, we're on his side and (unless you've got a heart of stone) chances are you're emotionally invested in this kid by page three or so.
