Taming of the Shrew is a controversial play with lots of people screaming that it supports misogyny and violence. Though it's a review of a modern interpretation of the play, this article does a nice job of analyzing the complex relationship that exists between Kate and Petruchio, providing some nice arguments and context for the questionable behavior.
