- Now we see Grace's attack from another point-of-view, that of Sam. Sam seems to be the wolf with yellow eyes.
- He watches his pack attack her, but he does nothing to stop her. He wonders why she doesn't struggle.
- Then she looks right at him, her “eyes holding [Sam's] with such terrible honesty” (2.11). As in, “honestly, they are eating me right now do something omg”? We're not sure.
- Sam goes against the desires of his pack, and he stops them from attacking her.
