Character Role Analysis

The Island

Since there really aren't any other characters around on the island, the main antagonist really seems to be the island itself. The island is, at first, a source of profound despair and discomfort. Once Crusoe undergoes his spiritual conversion, though, he realizes that it's not the island he must escape, but his own sins.
