Character Analysis
The Portuguese captain comes across Crusoe and Xury after they escape from captivity, and he rescues them on his boat. He travels with the men to Brazil. The most notable point about the captain is that Crusoe seems to view him as his equal. (The captain is, after all, a white European.)
