Case File: Orpheus and Eurydice vs. Hades
Police Reports
Case Description: Complainants (Orpheus and Eurydice) accuse defendant (Hades) of trapping Eurydice in the Underworld. After Orpheus charmed Hades and Persephone with his music, the King of the Dead told Orpheus that Eurydice could leave the Underworld; the only stipulation was that Orpheus couldn't look back at her until they were out of the Land of the Dead. Unfortunately, Orpheus couldn't help himself, and he glanced back at his wife.
Case Status: Case dismissed. The fault lies with Orpheus—after all, Hades kept up his end of the bargain. For the full story, check our files on "Orpheus and Eurydice."
