The TV series Stargate: SG-1 features a friendly alien species called the Asgard. In the TV series, these aliens' portrayal of the Norse gods is an effort to help the humanity supposedly inspired the Norse mythology (source: Stargate SG-1 Season 1, Episode 9, "Thor's Hammer").
