Professor Bhaer

Louisa May Alcott created Mr. Bhaer because she thought the romance between him and Jo would be "funny." It may be funny, but it also makes a lot of sense. Jo admires Professor Bhaer's intellect, but she's also drawn to his moral principles, which are very similar to her father's.
