Châtillon

Character Analysis

Châtillon is the snooty French messenger who delivers King Philip of France's threatening message to King John in Act I, Scene 1. We hope you didn't get too attached to Châtillon, because he only shows up one more time in this play—in Act II, Scene 2, where he delivers a message from King John to King Philip—or rather, reports that King John is already on his way to meet King Philip in force. After that, it's bye-bye for Châtillon.
