You don't need supernatural vampire senses to enjoy Interview. Just a basic grasp of the English language will do. Even though the whole novel is narrated in Louis's voice, he doesn't speak in a difficult dialect, and his tendency to repeat himself often means that it's difficult to miss any crucial details.
The novel isn't that long, either, so even with a mortal lifespan, you'll be able to finish it in no time, and still have plenty of time to read the other books in the series.
