Character Analysis
Gwen is one of Maria Van Osburgh's daughters. She is involved in a romance with Jack Stepney when the novel begins and marries him towards the beginning of Book I. (It is at this wedding that Lily discovers the news of Percy and Evie.) Lily finds that Gwen is similar to Percy Gryce, and whereas she herself is similar to Jack Stepney.
