Talk about holding a grudge. The Grinch manages to fume and stomp his feet over some festivities going on in Who-ville, and he does this every time the holidays roll around for 53 years. Fifty-three! Geez, hasn't he ever heard of earplugs? The issue with the Grinch, of course, is that he lets his hatred fester and take over his life, so he's beyond the reach of auditory disablement. His hatred is a driving force throughout How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, but it isn't until the Grinch begins to examine it that he's able to make progress. And as they say, the rest is history. The Grinch is a hater no more.
Questions and Answers
Q: Why does the Grinch hate Christmas so much?
A: He's allergic to eggnog, but he thinks it tastes super delicious, so he's bummed he can't drink any and takes it out on the Whos. Oh wait, that's not what this is about?
Q: Why isn't the Grinch meaner to Cindy-Lou Who when she catches him taking their things?
A: How can anyone be mean to such a cutie?
Q: Is it just the noise that bothers the Grinch, or is it everything about the holiday?
A: Well, I asked him (I have his address), and he insists it's just the hullabaloo. But I don't believe him for a second. I think he's just jealous he doesn't get to join in.
