- Rescue time. The rescuers are all doing their rescue thing. Dylan has surgery.
- Ben's making plans. He thinks he's old enough to work and support his two brothers. He tells Dylan his plan.
- One afternoon, just like that, Dad walks in. Uh, guess he's not dead after all.
- Dylan and Gerry are glad to see him, but Ben seems less happy. He's mad at his father for taking the rescue device thing, for starters.
- Dad tells his story. Falling off the boat was an accident. Or so he says. Ben isn't buying it at all.
- Dad was rescued after just a few hours, before the storm even hit. The rescuers couldn't look for the boys because of the storm.
- Dad searched for the boys for a long time. Everyone thought they were dead, though. After a month or so, Dad went home. He started teaching again.
- Ben goes for a walk. He can't stand to be around his father.
- Dad goes after Ben. He knows he's angry. No, Ben says, I'm not angry. I just hate your guts.
- Ben yells at his father, blaming him for everything that's ever gone wrong in his life, including his mother's death. Man, that's harsh.
- Dad seems really hurt by this. He tells Ben a special plane is coming for them tomorrow. Ben says he's not going.
