Fight Club can be a wee bit confusing. Our unreliable narrator's storytelling skills don't rely on a coherent chronology, and he's purposefully vague and misleading about almost everything. Not helpful, nameless guy. The tense shifts, sentence fragments, and near stream-of-consciousness (but whose consciousness?!) style of writing can be tough to follow. But at least reading about a fight club, as opposed to actually joining one, won't result in any sprained brains or broken bones.
