Miss Spink and Miss Forcible

Miss Spink and Miss Forcible are roommates who used to be actresses; now they're rather old and spend their days reminiscing, drinking tea, and paying attention to their various dogs. These two don't seem like guide material at first glance. But the women give Coraline lots of useful information: they warn her about the danger she's in and they give her the stone with the hole in it, which really saves Coraline when she's in the other world. The women might not mean to, but they do act as guides for Coraline in a round-about way.

The Black Cat

You might be wondering how on earth a cat could be a guide for a girl. But as Coraline's only companion on her adventure, it makes sense that he'd help her out along the way. The cat leads her to the mirror where her parents reside, and he even helps her save one of the lost children's souls. A very active and involved guide, indeed.
