- World War II ends. The teachers gather in the hall of the school to hug and talk excitedly. Antonio knows this means his brothers will come home. Turns out Antonio's dream was right. Give the guy a Technicolor Dream Coat and you could write a musical about him.
- Antonio's brothers return home—in real life, too. So the family prays and celebrates.
- With the brothers home, Antonio's father starts thinking about heading off to California with his family again.
- It turns out that Antonio is doing well in school, and his mother is pumped that "a man of learning was once again to be delivered to the Lunas" (7.139).
