  1. Graphic Novel
    Marjane Satrapi also wrote an autobiographical graphic novel about growing up in Iran. It's called Persepolis, and it's won awards and was made into a great movie.

  2. The Mexican Experience
    ABC tells of the immigrant experience from the Chinese-American perspective. In Esperanza Rising, the female protagonist shares a Mexican-American perspective. There are a bunch of similarities between the two books: culture clashes, California, stereotypes, friendships, and fitting in. Of course, they're totally different in some ways too, which means a ton to discuss.
