Dr. Rumack

Leslie Nielsen's fabulously deadpan Dr. Rumack serves the role of mentor in Airplane!. As a battle-hardened veteran of crisis situations, Dr. Rumack is always cool under fire and manages to keep it together when everyone else is either puking their guts out or freaking the heck out. He's able to give words of encouragement to Ted when he needs it most, and is responsible for the pep talk that truly turns things around for our hero.
