Glory

There's not a ton of limelight to be found in the cross-country world. Shocker, we know.

There aren't even any cross-country events in the Olympics. Steeplechase is the closest thing to cross-country running at the games, aside from the 5,000-meter and 10,000-meter, which are both on a track. No trail running for you, mister. There's the marathon, if you're into that kind of thing. But again, it's really not the same.

If you want to stay true to your roots, it looks like you're going to the USA Cross-Country Championships and then to the IAAF World Cross-Country Championships. But unless you're from Ethiopia or Kenya, however, the odds are against you.

But hey, we do it for the love of the game—er, trail—right?
