Data science is a combination of processes, methods and algorithms to try and make sense of all data that arrives in various forms and from a multitude of sources. The results are then analyzed in order to make inferences about the information that can greatly help with decision-making or theory testing. Like when those strange sounds from deep space finally arrive on earth, if there is a pattern to them, we might be hearing fluent Alien.
Because in space, they really can hear you scream.
