Speaking and Listening SL.3.3

Ask and answer questions about information from a speaker, offering appropriate elaboration and detail.

Asking questions of a speaker is a skill that's demonstrated every time the President holds a press conference, or when there's a big political debate. If you've ever held a conversation—hopefully, that's most of you—you've most likely asked questions of a speaker and added to what they said.

Covering this in class will be very similar. If you're fostering an environment of inquiry, you'll most likely hit this standard. However, we do think that your kids would benefit from a little modeling of how to do this.
